N22 Baile Bhuirne Macroom Road Development Technical Advisory Services
This procurement is for Technical Advisory Services consultants to provide all technical advice and any other services as required for a new road development comprising of the construction of an approximately 22 km upgrade to the main N22 Cork Killarney Tralee road. The proposed road development is a Type 2 Dual Carriageway, to be constructed offline.
This will include for support to the Contracting Authority during the procurement, design and construction stages of the Scheme in accordance with the TII Project Management Guidelines 2010 Phase 5 (Part 2: Tender Process), and Phase 6 and 7. The services to be provided include but are not limited to the following: Procurement and tender management, undertaking technical reviews, and contract monitoring and administration services during the design and construction stages of the Design and Build Contract.

The scheme comprises of the construction of an approximately 22 km upgrade to the main N22 Cork Killarney Tralee road. The proposed road development is a Type 2 Dual Carriageway, to be constructed offline. It will require construction through challenging terrain. The alignment crosses the existing N22 in 2 locations and involves constructing 2 compact grade separated interchanges. There are five offline roundabouts, in addition to the inline roundabout at Coolcour. It will be required to construct 4 nº river bridges. There are approximately 18 road bridges, 24 accommodation under / over bridge structures and approx. 13 culvert structures to be constructed as part of the road project. There are interfaces between the proposed road development and the existing N22. A series of advance works contracts are underway including environmental works, boundary fencing, archaeological testing, site clearance, a number of service diversions.
The services to be provided include but are not limited to the following: Procurement and Tender Management, Undertaking Technical Reviews, Contract Monitoring and Administration services during the design and construction stages of the Design and Build Contract.
